The creek is where my friend Anita lives in Montana. She was gracious to have us at her house in September.

We officially arrived at the East Coast on Sunday, June 13th. It was a great ride!

My best friend Nancy and her kiddos were so much fun as we invaded their home for a few days. Boy did I need to recoup. It was a good thing I went there cause I would not have been ready for entertaining the kids at Nana's without a rest. Thanks Nancy!

Then it was up the Shore we went! I love being here. I am soaking up the heat which hasn't been bad, and the humidity ;-)

We celebrated Father's Day (which also happens to be my parents and Charlie and my anniversary) with blue crabs and sweet tea. It just doesn't get any better than that! I could have that for dinner every night for a month.

The fries at the boardwalk were also calling, and I am happy to report they are GF! Yeah!!! After some games and rides we called it a day.

I love being home! I would spend everyday at the beach if I could.

Sure do miss my friends in CO! Wish you could join me here.

We are coming closer to the Lord, and for that I am thankful...

The offer we gave for a house was not accepted and that is determining some of our new plans.

I am a little sad, but not really. That house wasn't meant to be ours, somewhere there is one that is ours. The Lord knows where that is, and when we will find it. We are praying that we are looking in the right direction...

So, I am looking forward to being done with packing, done with this mortgage payment, and finding the next house. I am also looking forward to an unexpected trip east, with stops north and mid west!

Here are some more from the house we offered on...the mirror you see is the basement. Each end of the basement are covered in a mirror wall and there is a huge mirror on the side wall. There is also a bedroom, bathroom and storage.

There is an irrigation ditch running through the back yard. The big plant is rhubarb. Should be fun to put a garden in around the rhubarb plant.

This is the house that we have put an offer on to buy. We should hear from the Bank on Tuesday. It was built in 1977 with no updating as is evidenced by the decor. The yard is big with the start of a garden. It will be the beginning of a great adventure for us if we end up living here.

Nine years

Nine years ago this week, I was still in the hospital awaiting the boys. Everyday was a day of heartbeats and pool time.

Then on April 3 they made their appearance. Isaac was on the left and Silas is sporting the shades. Not much has changed, tee hee. Silas is still slightly smaller and Isaac is still a bit bigger. After three weeks on hospital care it was home we went. These are my miracles. I think I should tell them that more often.

So, Amy moved back to VA in August. You know what that means...cram as much as you can into a month!

So off we went in search of many things...this time, the ultimate climbing tree. So, we drove to Morrison with an idea of where it was. We found it...only to find that it was surrounded by water. Hey that wasn't here before...look at what those beavers did! So, no climbing could be had that day, but we did make another memory! Never a dull moment with the Spicer girls!!

This past summer, after we decided to stay in Co, the girls needed beds. We had been making due until we moved. Suddenly something had to be done. Jessica was almost four and still hadn't had her own "big girl bed"! So, the building began...
This is her first big girl bed. Chloe has one too and now there is lots of room to play in their tiny room! The girls love them. The next project is to get them painted. Great job honey!!

Wow, I knew it had been a long time, but really. Is anyone still checking this thing?! I have not been on here forever. But I did not die, at least not physically!

So June 2009 was the last post I made. What on earth has been happening since June 2009? Not a thing (wink, wink).

When you last tuned in we had put our house on the market and were moving to Daytona Beach FL. I sure would like to move far away from this snow!!!!

However, God has much more for us...so in July - just like that here we stay. I know this is the Lord but boy am I arguing in my heart ;-)

So, I have to say of all my experience moving...it is much easier to move into an empty house some where else than to move BACK into the SAME house in the SAME place! Not so much because of the place but because the house is not empty! But, after much prayer and time I am now sort of unpacked again. Of course we started school, had holidays, and did the unpacking all at the same time!

So, we are staying, but much to our surprise, Aunt Amy is not! Sigh again. So we crammed as much as we could into August and she left. Really? yes. Sigh.

Ok, moving on by the grace of the Holy Spirit....we begin new things here in Denver. I am excited to see what God will do this year 2010. What a great new year it will be...

The boys got legos for Christmas this year.

They both poured over the step by step directions and with little to no help, successfully built their ships.

Milestones are easy to see when they are little. They go from sleeping and eating,to sitting, standing, and walking...may I not miss the milestones as they continue to grow and learn!

A Trip in a Trip...

That seems to be how we operate! When you go east from where we are you cram as much as you can into the trip...gotta get your money's worth and make those memories...so we visited VA Beach. My dear, dear, forever friend Nancy Mandl and her family (thanks Thom!!!) opened their home to myself and four children. Combined there were 9 kids in the house, and we all stayed sane!

The city was a favorite of my kids. They are now praying for more trees in FL. Chloe and Elisabet are a pair of girly girls...I pray their friendship stays sweet despite the distance. And the boys haven't had more fun anywhere! Thanks Mandl's for a great weekend.

More fun that is...the next day we went to the MD Science Center and the Walter's Art Museum. We had great fun exploring all there was to see in both places. The kids extracted some wheat dna at the science lab and we enjoyed posing with "Cal Ripkin" in the kid space. Thank you Sarahjeanne for a fun weekend!

Jessica was taken aback by the large mouthed fish who swam right up to her. (Click the fish picture to see it bigger...really cool!)

Chloe and Jessica thought the bubbles at the Aquarium were the neatest thing. For me the coolest was showing my kids around my favorite Aquarium...where I have memories of going as a child. Love it! We saw so much.

We so enjoyed our time with my roommate Sarahjeanne and her family. The kids were excited to have some playmates and we took in lots of sights.

Of stones....but not these pretty ones. No, this is the story of kidney stones. We arrived in Md late Sunday night and not a moment too soon., for after a good nights sleep, Charlie woke up to severe pain. He was taken to the hospital via ambulance to discover a small kidney stone. The problem is that even a small stone is horrible when it involves the kidney.

We are waiting for it to pass as all things do. If you think of him please pray for a quick passing. And as our family knows...we got our vacation off to a "Spicer" start.

Isaac is full of thought provoking questions...they usually come when I haven't given such a thing much thought...what exactly do we "celebrate" at Halloween. My thoughts are still forming on this one. It is definetely not a holiday that traditionally honors God, but there are things that can be done that do honor the Lord.

What did we do...well, we went to a local church and participated in their light night carnival. It was great fun and the black light show praising the Lord was especially cool. Fun was had by all.

It’s all about the Ice Cream

The most eye-opening civics lesson I ever had was while teaching third grade. The presidential election was heating up and some of the children showed an interest. I decided we would have an election for a class president. We would choose our nominees. They would make a campaign speech and the class would vote.To simplify the process, candidates were nominated by other class members. We discussed what kinds of characteristics these students should have. We got many nominations and from those, Jamie and Olivia were picked to run for the top spot.The class had done a great job in their selections. Both candidates were good kids. I thought Jamie might have an advantage because he got lots of parental support. I had never seen Olivia’s mother. The day arrived when they were to make their speeches Jamie went first. He had specific ideas about how to make our class a better place. He ended by promising to do his very best. Every one applauded. He sat down and Olivia came to the podium. Her speech was concise. She said, “If you will vote for me, I will give you ice cream.” She sat down. The class went wild. “Yes! Yes! We want ice cream.”She surely would say more. She did not have to. A discussion followed. How did she plan to pay for the ice cream? She wasn’t sure. Would her parents buy it or would the class pay for it. She didn’t know. The class really didn’t care. All they were thinking about was ice cream. Jamie was forgotten. Olivia won by a land slide.

Every time Barack Obama opens his mouth he offers ice cream, and fifty percent of America reacts like nine year olds. They want ice cream. The other fifty percent know they’re going to have to feed the cow.

I have to say that while I know that God is sovereign over the earth and the nations therein...it is a battle of fear when I think of what will happen to society as a whole when Obama starts passing his "change" laws.

A Word About Sarah Palin

45 years ago, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. subpoenaed the conscience of America and drove the injustice of segregation like a wedge into the soul of the nation. The wedge has been driven again. When Senator John McCain courageously chose Governor Sarah Palin as his Vice Presidential running mate, he drove family values back into the conscience of America.
The liberal media played into the hands of a Higher Wisdom when they injected former Vice President Dan Quayle into the debate by comparing Governor Palin to Dan Quayle. Now, everyone is beginning to realize that this election is not about a man’s charisma or his nebulous notion of change. No. This election is a battle for family values and to the victor goes the soul of this nation.
Governor Palin is more than just a brilliant choice for Vice President. She and her family stand as a sign and a wonder for life and for children. They are a living parable parading in blazing Technicolor before the eyes of the whole nation. This goes way beyond elections. This is about us healing our families, regaining moral responsibility, and exhibiting forgiveness.
Palin boldly stood by her conviction that all life is sacred and chose to have her Down Syndrome child while leading her state. Senator Barack Obama, on the other hand, declared that the first thing he will do as President is pass the Freedom of Choice Act, which will remove every restriction from all abortion procedures, including many restrictions that most Americans agree with, By doing this, he will open up the doors to promote deviant sex education to kindergarteners and exclude even parents from their right to know of their underage daughter’s potential abortion.
When the pregnancy of her 17-year-old daughter became an insensitive liberal media circus, we were given a rare view into love and support as Governor Palin embraced her grandchild in her daughter’s womb as a blessing. Again, on the other hand, Obama was once quoted as saying that if his two daughters made a “mistake” and became pregnant, he would not want them to be "punished” with babies. What a stark contrast of the value of human life!
The ideological beast of Obama’s worldview has been drawn out of its lair and now stands naked and exposed by Palin’s compassion and conviction. The beast is not just Quayle hunting. It is hunting our children, our nation’s destiny, and us. The rage of the media against Palin simply further exposes the moral bankruptcy, bigotry, and lack of compassion of liberalism. The media, Obama’s court prophets, have become Selma’s new sheriffs of the South beating the new heirs of the civil rights movement – the millions of unborn children attacked in the womb and countless women hurt by abortion – with their journalistic Billy Clubs and loud hectoring.
With his choice of Governor Palin as his running mate, John McCain has once again gone to war. However, this time, not in the distant lands of Vietnam and Iraq, but he has gone to war for America, for our families, and for our children. And this war, we cannot afford to lose.

So, while I do not agree with all McCain stands for (or all Engle declares)...what I do desire is someone willing to stand by their convictions. I want a leader with experience and a backbone...not someone who can speak well given the words to say. Idealogical fluff won't help us fight all the battles we engage in as a nation. Those battles are on many fronts and the consequences will be lived with for a long time, whether they are in war, or in society.

It Goes Further back than 8 years...and will take longer to fix than the next 8 years! Vote Wisely or we just keep paying...

I love when their imaginations just keep going. After setting up our tent (thanks Uncle Tim) to practice camping...we had to make all things "tents"...this is our commune in our yard!

Notice the green grass...fertilizer does work. For those who remember my green stripe is pretty well blended into the rest of the yard now. It looks much better, lol!

Snow in June???

Well it could be snow in June, in CO you just never know. But no my friends this is the pollen that flew around in the air for weeks. My dearest friend Reaghan suffered her allergies twice this year to come visit us in June, two days before summer officially starts and you would think that the pollen is long gone. Ahhh, life in the mountains! Thanks for coming Reaghan...next time we will plan around the pollen!

Lost and now FOUND

Yeah!!! Isaac found the pooh bear blanket. After two nights of crying "I can't sleep with out pooh bear", big brother just happened to be sticking his hand in the lincoln log box that we have searched all around and never in and there it was. Way to go Isaac!!!!!

Actually I am not sure what happened, but our little girl's pooh bear blanket is gone. It is missing. Last seen on Sat. am, we have searched the house to no avail. We have so far survived one night and one nap time. We haven't taken the blanket anywhere and can not find it anywhere. Please pray it will show up. My mother's heart was tugged when Jessica said "OOHH AAHH (pooh bear) is lost forever" in a very forlorn voice. Yes she is very dramatic.

Thank you for your thoughts and prayers, Jessica would love to find pooh bear soon (and so would mommy and daddy!)

We had so much fun!! We got to hang out with Courtney Byron (a friend from VA Beach) at her fabulous house. Thanks Courtney! It was so much fun to catch up with you.

We got to have apples...yummmmmmmm!

And the whole week of sleepovers...what more could we ask for! Thanks Robyn and give a big hug to your mom and dad for me!!! We can't wait to do it again in July...big hug.

I should have included this receipe on the post with the cookies. Alas I am very slow, however here it is not too far behind the post! Scroll down a bit to see the pics. These are by far the yummiest chocolate chip I have found so far!

Chocolate Chip Cookies (from Incredible Edible Gluten-free Food for Kids)

Ingredients
½ c butter
½ c shortening
¾ c packed brown sugar
¾ c sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp pure vanilla
2 tsp baking powder
2 c rice flour
¾ c tapioca flour
½ c potato starch flour
1 tsp xanthan gum
1 tsp salt
2 c chocolate chips
1 c nuts (opt)

Directions
1. In a mixing bowl, beat the shortening and butter with a mixer on medium speed for about 30 sec
2. Add brown sugar, sugar, eggs, vanilla, baking powder, and rice flour. Beat until creamy and thoroughly combined.
3. Beat in the tapioca flour, potato starch, xanthan gum, and salt.
4. With a spoon, stir in the chocolate chips and nuts
5. Drop by teaspoonfuls about 2 in. apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in a 375-degree oven for 9-12 min. or until the edges are lightly browned. Remove immediately and place on wire rack to cool. Store in a plastic zip-style bag or airtight container.

Fertilizer really does work! Yes folks, this is my back yard. When I was putting down fertilizer to save our lawn I realized I was running low and it was supposed to do the whole lawn. So, to make it stretch over more of the lawn I began to do big swirling passes over the grass. Well, what you see is the end result from Chloe's bedroom. Go ahead laugh out loud! I do everytime I look at the lawn. So you see, it really does work to fertilize your lawn. You just need to cover it all!

Well, we didn't come back decked out like cowgirls, we didn't lasso any wild life or horses, but we did have an unbelieveably great time!! Thank you to the Stewarts for hosting all the estrogen this past weekend (thanks Eric)!!

It was so good to see the evidence of what we knew in our hearts to be true...God is very kind and faithful to all his children. What joy, what peace comes to mind when I think about all God has done in my friend's life. I am honored that he knit us together Robyn!

And what a blast to hang with Charissa and Reina all weekend! They are a joy and provoke me to grow in love and joy for my family. Thanks girls it was fun!

Daddy and Daughter Ball

Here she is...my 5 year old. Daddy took her to the Daddy/Daughter Ball this year. She was excited for weeks and couldn't wait to wear her flower girl dress (again;-) and red shoes. She are her friend Mollie had loads of fun dancing and playing games. The theme was Shanghai Nights and so there was a fortune cookie game. The food was great, but no cake so Daddy took her to Starbucks for a treat after the dance. I am glad she had a good time with her dad.
